There are hundreds of home buying choices to make.
Millions of people purchase a home each year. There are literally hundreds of critical decisions to be made during the home buying process—many of these choices can impact your lifestyle and finances for decades–and yet few buyers have a truly complete plan or roadmap when it comes to buying a home.
No homebuyer would consciously set out to:
- Make bad decisions
- Base their choices on incomplete information
- Overlook critical issues that later come back to haunt them
- Expose themselves to unnecessary legal & financial liabilities
- Put themselves in a weak negotiating position
- Overpay for their home or mortgage
- Buy a home that is a poor investment
- Hire unqualified people to help them with the home buying process
It’s up to you
Every year millions of buyers make many unnecessary home-buying mistakes. It’s up to you to avoid these same costly mistakes by educating yourself about the key elements of the home buying process.
Tip of the iceberg
The truth is that looking at homes to buy is just the tip of the iceberg in a complex and inter-related home buying process that involves hundreds of elements across dozens of areas of specialized knowledge.
Here’s a sample of just some of the categories of knowledge related to making smart home buying decisions:
- Economic & Housing Market Research

The purpose of this special home buying report is to help you make more informed and prudent home buying choices through the power of knowledge, awareness and process.
Lots of information but little wisdom
Although there are dozens of books and volumes of information on the subject of buying a home there seems to be little information on how to manage the entire home buying process in the best interest of you—the buyer.
Who will help you?
It is often assumed that your real estate agent will manage some elements of the process and that the loan officer will take care of the loan and that other experts will get involved, as you need them. But, how do you assess their competence level and qualifications to help you make one of the largest purchases of your life?
No standardized process
The shocking truth is that the way the real estate and mortgage industry has been structured for decades has left buyers without a standardized, complete and proven home buying process that is solely focused on the best interests of the buyer.
Of course, even if you hire real estate experts to help, you should proactively educate yourself in at least the basics of the home buying process so you can help navigate around some of the most common and costly home buying mistakes. At the very least you should be able to ask more intelligent questions about how to avoid these common mistakes.
The intent of this report is primarily to make you aware of the 23 most costly home-buyer mistakes and to give you a brief overview of issues involved. There are literally volumes of books written on many of these individual issues. It is beyond the scope of this report to give in-depth solutions, however, once you become aware of the issues you can seek out additional expert information and guidance.
Knowledge is power
Armed with the information in this report you should be able to work with your REALTOR and the other specialists involved to customize a plan just for you and find expert solutions to avoid unnecessary costly mistakes.
Your smartest home buying solution
Remember, an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. Your best insurance against making costly mistakes is to educate yourself about the key elements in the home buying and mortgage process. Ultimately you’ll need to have a clear plan, hire the right experts and make prudent, informed decisions based on up-to-date and complete information.
