Noosa Yoghurt, a maker of 100 percent natural yogurt, officially launched on Tuesday as a Boulder-based company. A smart grid technology company landed a $3 million investment from one of the largest energy companies in the United States and is spreading its wings in Boulder — with immediate plans for 30 new hires. Boulder’s KBCO radio station will be moving to a new studio in Clear Channel’s Denver Tech Center complex this spring, program manager Scott Arbough said Thursday. The worst appears to have passed and 2010 should bring better — but far from bullish — economic times, the University of Colorado’s leading economist said Wednesday. A musical-chairs-like shuffle of Pearl Street Mall tenants appears to have reached a resolution. By March, three longtime retailers — Art Mart Gifts, the Alpaca Connection and Zuni Fetishes Direct — will have moved to new spaces on the downtown Boulder mall. Sisters Laurel and Lindsey Tate co-founded the boutique women’s shoe and accessory shop — coyly called Two Sole Sisters — in downtown Boulder. Next week, economist Richard Wobbekind and a panel of Boulder-area businesspeople — hailing from the likes of Crispin Porter + Bogusky and Google — are slated to give their insight and expectations on how the local economy could fare in 2010. Big Blue is teaming up with the University of Colorado’s business school on a project designed to improve smart grid technologies. Kidrobot, a New York-based company known for its limited-edition vinyl toys and apparel, is moving its headquarters to Boulder. |
