Beautiful autumn colors with the chapel on the rock. The founder of Camp St. Malo, Monsignor Joseph Bosetti, had for years entertained an idea that one day he would build a chapel on this site. In 1916 he and two friends observed a falling meteor during the night and in his search for the remnants the next morning, he came across a large rock. The beauty of the land inspired the priest and he remembered Jesus? words to Peter: ?Upon this rock, I will build my Church.? (Matt 16:18). Vowing one day to build a chapel here, Msgr. Bosetti prayed for nearly 20 years to acquire the funds. The chapel was completed in 1935. In 1993, Pope John Paul II visited the chapel during his trip to Denver for the World Youth Day and bestowed his personal blessing on the chapel.

Allenspark log lodge was built in 1933 from native pine and sits at the south east corner of Rocky Mountain National Park. It is run as a bed and breakfast, so you will awaken to the aroma of fresh breads baking for your hot, family style breakfast.
The lodge about 1/4 mile from trails into Roosevelt National forest, 1.5 miles from a trail head into Rocky Mountain National Park and 2.5 miles from a a trail into Indian Peaks Wilderness Area. And during the summer months, right across the street from us is a horseback riding livery with great trail rides!
The Lodge is a non-smoking establishment. They accommodate children 14 and older, but our lodge dog won’t let us take any pets for guests (she doesn’t like the competition for petting, I guess).
Seven of their 13 rooms have private bathrooms. The other rooms use a shared bath down the hall, and are priced accordingly. All of the bedrooms are on the 2nd or 3rd floor, with the main floor as common area. They have a hot tub on an enclosed back porch.
